チリ地震 ― 2010年02月28日 02時57分25秒

チリでM8.8という非常に大きな地震が発生した．

チリの地震といえば，日本に津波が到達して大きな被害があった1960年のものが有名であるが，今回も津波が到来しそうとのこと．日本に来る津波も心配だが，チリの状況も心配である．

もはやウン十年も前になるが，4年ほどチリに住んでいたことがある．まだ子供だったのでそれほど鮮明な記憶があるわけではないが，大陸でありながら地震が多いなという印象はあった．その割に建物が地震に弱そうだったのが気になっている．

うかつなことはしたくないが，なにかできることがないかまじめに調べてみよう，という気分．
